Rob was primarily focused on land development issues and the community was consistently ranked as one of the Best Places to Live in America by multiple national publications during his tenure. Additionally, Rob practiced civil engineering for 18 years for a variety of nationally known public and private clients, and served as a consultant with Kimley-Horn, one of the nation’s premier planning and design consulting agencies. Rob received his Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M University with a focus on real estate law, state and local government law, and construction law. He received his Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Iowa State University. In his spare time Rob enjoys spending time with his two sons. Jerimy had a distinguished career as an Air Force pilot and commercial airline pilot before joining The Law Offices of Robert D. Daake, PLLC. During his 20 years in the military, Jerimy flew more than 80 combat or combat support missions and was responsible for pilot flight training in two different squadrons. He earned multiple awards for his service including the Air Medal and Aerial Achievement Medal. Jerimy served in multiple prestigious special commands including the Air Mobility Command, Education and Training Joint Command and the U.S. Transportation Command. Additionally, he flew VIP delegations out of Andrews Air Force Base including congressional representatives and the first lady. During his time with Southwest Airlines, he rose to captain. He has logged more than 12,000 flight hours in his career. He has also served in regulatory compliance roles coordinating with the FAA. Industrious, tireless, painstakingly detailed, and always up for a challenge, Jerimy pursued a new course of interest when receiving his Juris Doctorate from Texas A&M University with a concentration in business law. He previously received a Bachelor of Science with a double major in human and organizational development and physics from Vanderbilt University. In his spare time, Jerimy enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. They travel to Wyoming whenever possible to spend time at their family cabin. Daake, PLLC Professional Bio Alexa Knight’s engineering and development background spans nearly 30 years and gives her a unique understanding of the ins and outs of complex development projects. Highly accomplished in managing the entire development lifecycle, she specializes in working in high-growth and fast-paced environments. Alexa consults with attorneys in the firm and provides technical expertise regarding planning, financial, and land use principles. She coordinates efforts with cities by supporting attorneys in the drafting of documents and negotiations with municipalities and private property owners. In her profession, Alexa distinguishes herself with extensive experience on both sides of the development process. She not only brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective, but she is able to see the big picture and navigate putting the puzzle pieces together for any size project. Thoroughly versed in state and local development regulations, she brings savvy negotiation and contract development skills. Alexa understands the practical needs of both the developer and the communities in which projects will be located, allowing her to find win-win solutions collaboratively and effectively. Alexa began her career as a civil engineer, representing clients in Austin, where she designed commercial and multi-family projects. She ensured successful completion of development entitlements and managed a design team on a wide variety of design and development projects during a period of explosive regional growth. After pursuing her MBA, Alexa decided to parlay her technical expertise into real estate development. For more than two decades, she has managed multi-family, residential, and complex multi-use developments of all sizes. Most recently, Alexa was President, Central USA, at Walton Development & Management, a multinational real estate investment and development firm concentrating on research, acquisition, administration, planning, and development of strategically located land in major North American growth corridors. While in this position, she opened the Austin office and established a presence for Walton in Central Texas. She then relocated to Dallas to oversee both the Dallas and Austin offices. Alexa led the creation of successful development agreements with 17 cities and five counties to secure entitlements for 17 master-planned communities spanning 25,000 acres. She built stakeholder relationships and gained trust and buy-in while managing initiatives leading to successful legislation at the state level to create municipal utility districts (MUD’s) to enable subsequent development of the affected properties. Additionally, she led the company’s participation in the Greater San Marcos Economic Development Partnership, a multi-community organization dedicated to economic development in Hays and Caldwell counties. Prior to Walton Development, Alexa worked for several South Texas real estate development firms where she was engaged in projects of all sizes. She assisted with negotiating a long-term land lease and secured all necessary approvals for a 145-unit mixed-use facility with 38,000 square feet of ground floor retail space in downtown Austin. She also was a critical driver in work toward developing agreements for a proposed 1,900-acre master-planned community in Georgetown, Texas. Alexa received her Master of Business Administration from Texas State University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in environmental studies from Lehigh University. In her spare time, Alexa enjoys long-distance running and has completed multiple marathons. Having spent her early childhood years living abroad, the travel bug has never left her. Detail oriented, she is adept at managing complex, multi-faceted projects. Her lifetime love for the complexities of the construction and development process began in childhood when her father was a housing developer and has continued throughout her career. Carmen was vice president at Cabre and Associates for nearly 15 years before joining The Law Offices of Robert D. Daake, PLLC. She was responsible for a wide range of work at the civil and structural engineering firm. Her responsibilities included everything from contracts and land development due diligence and feasibility studies to planning and general business development. Prior to that she served as the director of development for a national retail center developer. There she specialized in retail developments in multiple states, handling more than a dozen retail projects at any given time in various phases of pre-development and construction. Carmen has an insightful understanding of the development and construction phases from site selection to selling. She brings a unique frame of reference, not only able to handle transactional legal details, but also to serve as a partner in making recommendations specific to assessing development projects. She is adept at describing the intricacies of each project in legal documents in a way that best benefits the client’s objectives. Carmen completed a Juris Doctorate from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. During school breaks she worked with the most accomplished legal mentors as she processed state and federal appeals cases in the Court of Appeals for the First District. Currently representing the buyer in helping to develop a strategic subdivision and land use plan focused on maximizing value for investors. This project has two miles of frontage on the future Dallas North Tollway. Represent the owner an approximately 700-acre tract located on both sides of the Dallas North Tollway in Celina, TX. This project includes transactional work, securing land use entitlements, planning and executing development strategies for the proper phasing of the master plan, and drafting restrictive covenants. Additionally, this engagement includes drafting and negotiating development agreements in a manner that protects all phases of development.
