Carmen Dominguez

Professional Bio


Carmen Dominguez brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique combination of real estate and business development expertise to the firm. Alongside her legal aptitude, she brings a strong background in land development, lease negotiations, real estate acquisition, location intelligence, and contract negotiation. She has a deep understanding of the construction process, market conditions, and development cycle.

Her experience working on commercial and residential projects in multiple states and in Puerto Rico makes her a unique and well-rounded attorney. Detail oriented, she is adept at managing complex, multi-faceted projects. Her lifetime love for the complexities of the construction and development process began in childhood when her father was a housing developer and has continued throughout her career.

Carmen was vice president at Cabre and Associates for nearly 15 years before joining The Law Offices of Robert D. Daake, PLLC. She was responsible for a wide range of work at the civil and structural engineering firm. Her responsibilities included everything from contracts and land development due diligence and feasibility studies to planning and general business development. Prior to that she served as the director of development for a national retail center developer. There she specialized in retail developments in multiple states, handling more than a dozen retail projects at any given time in various phases of pre-development and construction.

Carmen has an insightful understanding of the development and construction phases from site selection to selling. She brings a unique frame of reference, not only able to handle transactional legal details, but also to serve as a partner in making recommendations specific to assessing development projects. She is adept at describing the intricacies of each project in legal documents in a way that best benefits the client’s objectives.

Carmen completed a Juris Doctorate from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. During school breaks she worked with the most accomplished legal mentors as she processed state and federal appeals cases in the Court of Appeals for the First District. She received a Bachelor of Science in business from Boston College and a Master of Science in real estate from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Carmen has many interests and talents. She is bilingual (English and Spanish) and speaks basic Italian and French. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two adult children. She appreciates everything from travelling the world to sampling Spanish wines, watching fantasy movies, and making paella.
